Recovery Support
Medical Transportation Fund
Cage Free Care Benefit Society supports people in active recovery through its Medical Transportation Fund. The fund is designed to help eligible individuals access safe transportation for treatment, recovery services, medical appointments, and other essential care that supports stability and continuity of care.
How Screening Works
Our review process helps ensure Medical Transportation Fund support is directed to eligible individuals in active recovery who need help getting to care, treatment, recovery-related services, and other essential appointments.
01
Submit A Request
A patient, family member, provider, case manager, or recovery partner shares the transportation need, trip details, and basic background information for review.
02
Verify Recovery Need
We review whether the request supports active recovery, treatment participation, discharge planning, behavioral health follow-up, or another care-related need tied to recovery stability.
Our goal is to remove transportation barriers while treating every request with dignity, compassion, and respect for the recovery journey.
03
Confirm Eligibility
We consider trip purpose, timing, available support resources, safety considerations, and whether Medical Transportation Fund assistance may be appropriate for the situation.
04
Coordinate The Ride
When approved, we help coordinate transportation so the individual can get to the needed appointment, program, or destination safely and on time.
What We Review
What The Screening Process Looks For
Each request is reviewed with a focus on care access and recovery support. Screening may include confirmation of the transportation purpose, current recovery engagement, referral source, discharge or appointment details, rider safety needs, and whether other transportation options are available.
Active recovery participation
Care or program connection
Safe trip planning
Barrier reduction need
Important Note
Support Based On Review
Submitting a request does not guarantee funding or transportation assistance. Screening helps determine whether support is available based on the individual situation, program priorities, and transportation need.
We encourage providers, treatment teams, and case managers to share clear referral details so requests can be reviewed quickly and coordinated appropriately when assistance is available.
